Mothers’ day! What a beautiful concept

Brings to your mind, chocolates, flowers and hugs and lots of cute cards that one can gift to a mother.

And with its celebration comes the debate; is one day a year enough for mothers? well, I would look at it like this, 364 days of for the mother so hug her on those days and on this special day go out of your way and pamper her, thank her and make her feel special.

So all you yummy mummies out there do remember that is your mother’s day too, which means have you wished your mother? Have you pampered her?

So one of the best ideas for mothers’ day is go out and have fun with your mother, pamper her, and get pampered, thank her and get thanked and have a ball.

One of the first gifts that you need to give yourself on mother day is throw away your guilt. yes, most mummies are guilty, guilty of not spending enough time with their kids, guilty of late nights at the office, guilty of leaving the kids at the day care etc. so today on your special day, remove and throw away this ‘guilt’ it is not needed and because of the guilt you end up following incorrect parenting practises, like buying too many toys or giving your child too many sweets, chlorates etc.

This mother’s day make a promise to your self that you will first look after your needs, your emotions as a happy mother can then bring up happy children.

So this mother’s day to be a happy mother do what is given in the acronym below-

M- My special needs –
Please do not pout and fret and fume that no one is looking after me, we are mothers, we take care of the world and in this world we are included, so let’s take care of ourselves. Remember charity begins at home.

O- Other mums will not worry me -
yes, please don’t let other moms and what they do worry you, because then you are constantly comparing yourself to other moms and finding yourself falling short , you are then resorting to guilt trip parenting. So stop comparing today. You are doing the best you can.

T- Time will be spent on all equally -
Yes, please spend time on your husband and yourself, so do have quality time that you are spending with your husband where you are not discussing kids, just good old romantic time. Necessary. So make time for it, it will help you look happier, younger and more energetic.

H- Help is sometimes good and required-
just because your mom did it all on her own , does not mean  you have to be the same, maybe being a working woman is not possible to juggle and do all that your mom was doing, so hire some help, its o.k., it does not make you  a bad mom!

E- easy on the guilt -
In fact do away with it completely, you don’t need it, it just adding wrinkles to yEur face and tension lines on the forehead. So stop feeling guilty start feeling good about yourself and your family today.

R- Rest -
Yes it is important. and you will ask, ‘how do we rest?’ well, the first thing is to delegate your tasks, sometimes husbands are willing to share your responsibility but you are not giving it to them, because of foolish reasons like-‘he will not clean up’, ‘my child does not stay with him’ etc. Rest is a need, so do not postpone it, find time and ways to rest.

Put together all of the above and you get a beautiful word- M.O.T.H.E.R.

So happy mother day and ask yourself have I been a mother today? And look at the points given to find your answer.

Dear Mam , its very true every word is so assuring . i would like to add few lines of one of the world renowned writer he is comparing women
with plum blossoms . long before any other flower make their appearance , plum blossoms beautifully in the cold winter wind, often clocked in a mantle of snow .Women are harbingers of spring.By observing a single flower in Bloom , one can predict the advent of spring

Respected ma'am it's true,Mother-is the rebirth of a woman.
A mother can utter a word of compassion and make all our cares fall away,She can brighten a home with the sound of her laughter
And make life delightful.
The hearth of a mother is full of forgiveness for any mistake, big or small, and generous always in helping her family.I will only say that, MOTHER is a precious gift from almighty to us and heartily thank every seconds/moments of our life which would not be possible without her.

A mothers unconditional love and her committed single minded focus gives her the strength to overcome all kinds of hurdles that come her way.A mother has the humane quality of forgiving her child for all his mistakes and accepting him for what he is.The 9 months of nurturing creates a bond which is incapable of being explained in mere words but repeatedly stands the test of time....My own mother was bed ridden for 10 years but in those 10 years she never let anyone indulge in sympathising with her ailment nor did she wallow in self pity, on the contrary she was an example of sheer grit and courage ....Im sure she shed occasional tears in the privacy of her 4 walls, but never did she falter even for a second (from her bed) in her role as a devoted mother....In her death I found solace in the fact that she was released from her pain, and the void I feel in my life I fill not by tears and heartful rememberances or sad memories, but instead I never miss an opportunity to share her story of a valiant battle with women who complain of being bogged down with minor frail trivialities of day to day experiences as mothers ....to all those first time mothers who whine at the drop of a hat I have a message... a mothers journey is a long ardorous uphill one and sometimes along this path, we do feel defeated...but secretly we all know that we can once turn our back on our ownself but never on our child.....and hence we trudge on. Respected Ma'am,
Reading through the precious words in your Blog , I could see the glimpse of my Mom who struggled hard to see all her 3 kids on their feet but even today her needs are the last on her list
Nobody in this world can bring so much love and happiness in one lifetime to a person, how much a mother with her mere presence can

Dear Ma'am
I also would like to share something For Mother's Day ,
after becoming a mother till today i am missing to my mother on every moments.
Mother's Day is a day to celebrate motherhood.
A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

"Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The child further inquired, "But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking it's life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore."

God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

"You will simply call her, 'Mom.'"

M-O-T-H-E-R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.

God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers. - Jewish Proverb

Respected maam,
A mother is one person on earth who loves unconditionally. the article reminds me of my mum and of me being a mother. I learnt from my mum to be strong and never run away from difficulties.
A mother,s arms are always open when you need a hug her heart understood when we needed a friend, her gentle eyes were stern when we needed a lesson and soft when we did well. Her strength and love has guided me and gave me wings to fly.
Some times children may treat us a like a maid or a chauffer,
you may be treated like many things but deep down their hearts they always know its always mothers who will always be there with them in good and bad times.
Happy mothers day to all those wonderful moms as being a mother is a tough job.

Mom,maa,aai,mummy...we all call our mothers with so many names in many different languages but wherever we go, whatever we do A MOTHER is always the same everywhere...her caring nature, unconditional love, loads of blessings and a genuine well wisher...below mentioned is a quote in Gujarati that truly expresses what I feel about my mother...

I LOVE YOU FOR EVER
Thank you so much ma'am for writing this touching article which made me share my thoughts on the same. Yes, indeed it is a bravura article!

Everything Mom
How did you find the energy, Mom
To do all the things you did,
To be teacher, nurse and counselor
To me, when I was a kid.
How did you do it all, Mom,
Be a chauffeur, cook and friend,
Yet find time to be a playmate,
I just can’t comprehend.
I see now it was love, Mom
That made you come whenever I'd call,
Your inexhaustible love, Mom
And I thank you for it all.
