Schwindt couldn’t be more explicit when she opined, “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children
teach us what life is
all about.” I have been fortunate to have spent most of my professional life
working among kids and the best part of my learnings are what kids have taught
me. Let me share here three very golden rules kids have given to me to follow
as an adult:
1.
Happiness
has no reason!
HAPPINESS
spelt with capital letters! It is their default system. Kids are naturally
happy beings and they do not require big justification for their happiness. If
they cry or exhibit crankiness one can trace it back to either a physical
discomfort or as their ploy to seek proper attention which often remains
elusive from the adult world. Children invariably choose to remain unaffected
by depressing things or grumpy people around them. In fact they like jolly
people as easily as fish takes to water. When children are around us happiness
free flows because they are genuine brand ambassadors of it.
2. Only unconditional Love!
Kids love uninhibitedly without
any conditional tags attached. They have
amazing capacity to forget and forgive. They don’t analyse, weigh upon or
scrutinise the emotion of love. If they feel it they express it spontaneously. If
a child has difficulty in expressing love, we better check what or who is
stopping the child from doing so.
Human beings to toys, pets to
cartoon characters- all receive abundance of love from kids. No bitter past
accounts are held in their heart. They keep their dealings simple and
beautiful. In relationships, children
deal only in one currency, i.e. unconditional love.
3. Don’t give up spirit!
If you stop a three year old
from scribbling on walls, within moments the little genius launches another
business. May be, this time it is dragging an oversized carton from corner to
corner. You stop that too and next immediate target of attention could be your
mobile phone left on table unguarded. Kids are born busy bees! Display of
kinaesthetic energy is a sign of robust health in a child, both physical and
emotional.
Children do not buy discouragement very
easily. If one occupation is taken away from them they instantly find another
one and still another one. Indomitable
resolve! Every child has it.
I learn my lessons in
happiness, unconditional love and resilience from kids every day. Their company is both therapeutic and
enlightening.
When as parents, family
members, teachers and care givers we deal with children we must understand our
job is to preserve these three wonderful qualities in a child as much as
possible while they are growing up. Let us help them: to continue practising
happiness without harming or hurting others; to Show kindness and consideration
to express their love; and remain unfazed at the face of any discouragement,
rejection or defeat in life.

Very true, ma'am...
There are always some incredible life lessons that we as adults learn from children who are more confident, more courageous and enjoy life far more intensely than adults.

Kids live by their instincts openly and without hesitation. They are enthusiastic about life, eager to learn, and curious about everything. Even though kids still have a lot to learn, just observing them can teach us many practical life lessons. These lessons are simple, yet pertinent to living a healthy, happy and productive life.
Very true Ma'am,our children teach us all about life.we can learn many things from them.
I am sure your experience of learning from children is so beautifully explained in simple language as what we learn with pleasure we never forget and this process happened as you didn't ask your child to live in your world you visited their world instead.
Adults need to look at life from a child's perspective also.
as it is truly mentioned by Austin omall
A child is an uncut diamond
Thanks for sharing.
So very true Ma'am.These little things that children teach us does make a lot of difference in our daily life.
When with children we actually learn to live life in its purest of form. Free from pretentiousness,to be happy without reason, confident and full of energy.
Being with kids is the sure shot Mantra to being Happy and to stay young.
Thank you Ma'am for the article.
very true ma'am,being among them teaches us a lots of things most importantly how to live life without mulling over negative things.
That's true being with a child and sharing their joy is the ultimate happiness one can experience. They teach us something new everyday.Children are not afraid. They love taking risks and don’t worry about looking foolish or different. They only know this moment; right here and now, and they seem to understand something that we adults have forgotten: that the present is what counts and that each day is a gift waiting to be discovered.
Truly said Ma'am... Spending time with children always gives us some good learning. Children are very strong and don't easily quit. Every one should learn and have purity like a child has. each day we spend time with our children observing and being with them we get new experiences of life which we really miss out and ignore.
Very true Mam . We adults should learn from children to make true love . We should learn from children how to forgive and forget the mistakes of others .And this all will come when we spend time with these little educators .
So very true to share...A wise man said if you are working with kids you will always be happy and stay young.

We are so lucky that we are spending time with the children in our schools. Children are great inspiration for us. We learn to enjoy and always be happy when we are there with little children.
Children unknowingly teach us many things which gives us important lessons of life.To be with them and enculcate new things in them will bring them out efficiently.
Very true ..We think we ADULTS teach kids...but if we can see it in micro level, they are teaching us in each step...pure learning .. non adulterated one.

Three golden rules are really true. When we are spending time with kids, observing them or playing with them, every time we get a new learning.
Thank you ma'am for the wonderful article.
Thank u, ma'am. It is really a true message. I am feeling proud to be the part of the pure world(children's world).
Children are more confident, more courageous and enjoy life far more intensely than adults. Sometimes it feels that we spend our entire lives trying to return to who we were as children."Play energize our lives And enlivens it. It eases our burden. It renews our natural sense of optimism and opens us to new possibilities"-Stuart Brown.Let's get ourselves refreshed in the sweet world of kids.

We adults must take a moment to look at life from a child's view. Life is full of wonder and discovery. Joy and fun are all around. Every day is exciting, with new surprises around every corner. We must learn lessons from these Little Masters.

Children look into the world with New eyes and the beginner's mind. They don't pretend they understand how things work. They are not trying to prove their expertise. They look what's happening right in front of them with curiosity and ability to astonish. that's what makes them philosophers.
In a nutshell, children can help us get back to who we were before the world told us who we should be.
